ACIREALE

Acireale stands on a lava relief overlooking the Ionian Sea. Elegant town cloaked in the unmistakable Baroque atmosphere, it has numerous sites and monuments of historical and architectural interest, in particular the central Piazza del Duomo and the buildings adjacent to it. It has also become famous for the construction of one of the most famous and oldest Carnival in Sicily, even cited by The Guardian among the 10 most beautiful in the world.
Reaching Acireale from Villa Maria is extremely simple and fast both through the railway line and by car. The train barely takes 20 minutes to reach the station, from which the center is only 1,8 km.
