Radicepura Garden Festival, the 6 May in Giarre (CT) the fourth edition is underway

Will open next 6 The exhibition will be open to the public from, in Giarre (CT), the fourth edition of the Radicepura Garden Festival, biennial promoted by Radicepura Foundation. The festival involves great protagonists of landscape design, of art and architecture, young designers, scholars, institutions, businesses. Until the 3 December, in the botanical park Radicepura it will be possible to visit 15 gardens e 4 installations, made with plants made available by Piante Faro. The nursery represents one of the most innovative realities in the area thanks to the activity carried out by Venerando Faro and his sons Mario and Michele.

THE THEME OF THE RADICEPURA GARDEN FESTIVAL

Theme of this edition, proposed by the artistic director Antonio Perazzi, And The garden of plants. Indeed, the projects on display enhance the botanical element, in order to demonstrate the benefits of a quality garden, modern, functional, poetic and harmonious. It is thus intended to promote a different style of garden capable of affirming a conscious belonging to the natural world, gardens in which a sincere relationship with plants and the environment is put in place on a daily basis. The fourth edition of the Biennale will open with garden Wind and Water, attempts at resilience by Paolo Pejrone. This edition will also feature eight gardens and one installation, made by nove team of architects and landscapers under 36 selected through an international call. The call, which closed in January 2023, recorded an important participation, with over 900 entries from 62 Different countries.

The symbol of this edition is the carob plant, the evergreen tree that has been one of the icons of the island for centuries, also called "survival plant". It expresses the spirit of the festival which intends to highlight those varieties resistant even to the most difficult climatic conditions.

The program will be spread over the six months of the festival, alternating training moments with cultural meetings, musical events, aperitifs in the garden, international workshops and guests. If you part with a Garden Masterclass: the landscapers Sarah Eberle, James Hitchmough e Antonio Perazzi for three days they will lead the members to discover Etna (4-6 The exhibition will be open to the public from). From 14 May they will begin Sundays in the garden: the first appointment will be dedicated to the preview of the event A Navy of Books. There will still be moments of deepening for all ages. Workshops for children on Nature themes are also planned, Environment, Landscape, Architecture and Design.

Finally green, planning and cities with the laboratory dedicated to the redevelopment of green areas with attention to the urban planning of the cities, in particular those close to the Radicepura botanical park. Space for virtuous collaborations on the territory: a will be set up garden representing Kolymbethra inside the Radicepura botanical park, to confirm the shared commitment on landscape issues and the protection of the local botanical heritage. But also local excellence: dai wine tasting, al coffee, protagonist of a workshop and dedicated dialogues (Sunday 1 October), up to the musical aperitifs. The festival will then end on 3 December with the assignment of Gardenia Award. The director Emanuela Rosa-Clot will award the award to the garden that has developed the best during the six months of the festival.
