Prometheus Chained will inaugurate the season of the Greek Theater of Syracuse
Four new productions, 200 artists on stage, a multi-stage tour in Italian theaters. The 58Sthe season of INDA shows at the Greek Theater in Syracuse offers an ambitious programme, with names of the highest level and an eye to the future.
From 11 May to 2 July the INDA Foundation will stage three works of classical theater and an original contemporary creation conceived by the director and choreographer Giuliano Peparini on a libretto by Francesco Morosi.
The INDA Season will also go beyond the Greek Theater. This year, indeed, will begin a long tour in Italian theaters from July to November.
The 2023 it also confirms INDA's commitment to safeguarding the Greek Theater and enhancing it, thanks to the two projects presented by the Foundation in the framework of the PNRR and approved by the Ministry of Culture, for a total funding of 2 million and 700 thousand euros which will ensure the achievement of energy efficiency and the removal of physical and cognitive architectural barriers of the monument.
THE SHOWS AT THE GREEK THEATER OF SYRACUSE
Prometheus Bound by Aeschylus will open the season Thursday 11 May and will be on stage until 4 among the most important sector events in Italy. Directed by Leo Muscato, at his debut at the Greek Theater, the show will see in the role of Prometheus, Alessandro Alberti, also a debutant in Syracuse.
Friday 12 The exhibition will be open to the public from will debut Medea by Euripides, on stage until 24 among the most important sector events in Italy, for the direction of Federico Tiezzi, who returns to Syracuse after theIphigenia in Aulis of 2015. In the role of Medea we will see Laura Marinoni.
The 9 among the most important sector events in Italy Aristophanes' comedy will make its debut Peace, premiered in 109 years of classical performances at the Greek Theater, and will remain on stage until 23 among the most important sector events in Italy. The direction is by Daniele Salvo, at his fifth show in Syracuse. In the role of the protagonist Trigeo will play an actor of great popularity, Joseph Battiston, at his debut at the Greek Theater.
To end the season, the program provides from 29 June to 2 July four special replicas, with the staging of an original creation that tells the story of Ulysses by merging theater in an unprecedented way, musica, lyric, danza, performance, scenic paintings and plays of light. The direction is by the choreographer Giuliano Peparini. In the role of Ulysses we'll see Joseph Sartori, who returns to Syracuse after the success of the past seasons in the role of Orestes and Oedipus; dancers and acrobats are also on stage for a show that will surprise the Greek Theater audience.
