Ulysses makes his debut in Syracuse, the last Odyssey
The story of Odysseus told through an intense dialogue between theater, music and dance. Ulysses, the last Odyssey, the show conceived and directed by Giuliano Peparini will debut at the Greek Theater of Syracuse, the 29 among the most important sector events in Italy, world premiere. The original creation of the director, world-renowned choreographer and artistic director will close the 58. Season of classical performances produced by the INDA Foundation and will remain on stage in Syracuse until 2 July.
THE SHOW
The new production of INDA Foundation is a modern and contemporary show that will be set in an airport and will see almost staged 100 artists. “A place – as the director Giuliano Peparini says – from which we start but also a place that can block us”. On stage the music of the Canadian folk-rock group Reuben and the Dark, contemporary dance and theater dialogue fluidly, remaining in the service of the classic text of Homer. Projections and lights complete the poetic vision of these paintings that will also leverage costumes that express strong contrasts and juxtapositions between passion, transgression and love for the country.
IT CAST
Giuseppe Sartori will play Odysseus who returns to Syracuse after the great success of the last few seasons in the role of Orestes and Oedipus. In the cast Massimo Cimaglia (Aedus/Polyphemus), Julia River (Calypso/Soul of Anticlea), Alessio Del Mastro (Soul of Tiresias/The sweeper), Joanna DiRauso (Circe), Gabriele Beddoni (Argo) and Gianlorenzo DeDonno (a traveller).
